ISLAMIC (ALLAH)

 

Islam is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion teaching that Muhammad is a messenger of God. Islam is the name of the religion that Muslims follow. People who practice Islam are called Muslims, just like those who practice Christianity are called Christians. In this picture it shows Muslims praying at the masjid al haram. The mosque was the eighth largest in the world.

It is a site of pilgrimage in the Hajj, which every Muslim must do at least once in their lives if able, and is also the main phase for the ʿUmrah, the lesser pilgrimage that can be undertaken any time of the year. (www.wikapedia.com)

Masjid al-Haram (Arabic: اَلْمَسْجِدُ ٱلْحَرَامُ‎, Romanized: al-Masjid al-Haram, lit. 'The Sacred Mosque'), also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca, is a mosque that surrounds the Kaaba in Mecca, in the Mecca Province of Saudi Arabia.

                      

The prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in 570 A.D. Muslims believed he was the final prophet to send by God to reveal their mankind.  

Islam has 5 pillars video11 (3:30-4:38)

  1. shahada, there is no god, but Allah and Muhamad is Allahs prophet.

2. Salat, ritual prayers Muslims pray 5 times a day.

3. Sawim.  month of Ramadan 

4. Zakat. Muslims believed that they are to share their wealth with the less fortunate to the community of believers.

5. Hajj. Muslims who are able to are required to make the pilgrimage to the mecca.

          what i learned on Islam was mostly in high school. I remember that Muslims pray 5 times a day. Men and women go to that mecca to do their praying. also, that during the month of Ramadan you can't eat until a certain time. My wife family is Muslim and the way they do is no eating pork, and everything that they eat has to be halal. somebody has to pray over the meat even if it's a cow or chicken any type of meat has to be prayed over. I also know that in Islamic that men do the burial, women aren’t allowed near the grave until everybody has to leave the grave site. So the soul can stand up and leave, and also that 7th and 40th of the day their presence can come visit you.  Islam is a very interesting culture I am glad I got to do some readings on it, and learn so much about it.I have experienced it also because my wife is a Muslim. Even though I am Christian, I really enjoy their culture.
